About Patrizsha
Patrizsha's musical roots were not very glamorous. In fact, you might say they were nonexistent, except of course for a beautiful Mom who had dancing feet. Patrizsha's God given love of music is what carried her through to today.
When she and her sister received one of those Hammond Mini Organs for Christmas at the age of 3 or 4, Patrizsha was drawn to the old negro spirituals. She's been wailing away ever since. Her father cringed at the thought and sound of her singing "that kind of music". Patrizsha loved anyone with a big voice, lots of soul, and a little growl.
There was no real support for her love of music growing up. In fact, when her father came to see her in a talent show, that she won, his comment was I didn't know you could sing. Patrizsha had sung in the church and school concerts growing up, many of which were unattended by family after her mother died.
Developing a musical career seemed like Greek to Patrizsha so she put her aspirations down for many years. It wasn't until that same competition above that she started developing herself as an artist.
Patrizsha studied voice in NYC with Hal Schaefer who was often seen at the Newport Jazz Festival. She proceeded to study at Carnegie Hall at The Susan Slavin Academy for Singers for four years. She has most recently studied with Katie Agresta in NYC.
Patrizsha's musical experience has covered many genres; Off -Off Broadway doing musical Comedy, Manhattan Cabaret, Jazz and Blues clubs, down to Nashville for country and churches across New Jersey. One of her musical highlights was singing at the Motor Racing Outreach Concert at the Nascar Races in Atlanta Georgia which reached thousands of people while providing prayer and food for those coming hungry.
Patrizsha's career has taken a complete 180 and she can now be found at Spiritual Venues, churches and pretty much anywhere with a good cause. She is presently in her home state of New Jersey wailing out a mix of her Bluesy Rock and Soul inspirational songs. Patrizsha is a songwriter / recording artist and is collaborating with producer/songwriter/performer Justin Sheehy of LA. and Rich Rose of N.J. Listen to some early cuts of her CD on the site.
It hasn't all been pretty and DON'T try to put her in a box but if you have a passion for heart, soul, power and humor, Patrizsha's show or music will not disappoint. Patrizsha has had many teachers, but as long as she continues with the ultimate teacher, Jesus Christ, no matter what comes her way she'll come out victorious.
